Cooperative Care Training
A pet with a chronic illness may visit the vet dozens of times a year. Fear and stress can become a serious barrier to consistent care, reduce healing, and impair immune function. Cooperative care training focuses on low stress handling, making each visit more manageable for the pet, the caregiver, and the veterinary team.
Diesel’s FootPrint covers up to $1,500 in cooperative care training fees, paid directly to our approved Training Partners, so families in Santa Clara County can access professional support without the added financial burden.
To qualify:
- Be enrolled in the Diesel’s FootPrint Veterinary Care Financial Assistance Program
We can help cover:
- Private cooperative care training sessions
- Online classes and coursework
- Ongoing trainer support throughout your pet’s treatment

Vet Visits Should Not Be Scary. A dog or cat with a chronic illness can learn to feel calm and comfortable during veterinary care with the right support. The Leo Fund was established in memory of LeighAnne’s companion Leo to help ensure finances are never the reason a pet doesn’t get the help they need.
