Diesel’s FootPrint is a nonprofit committed to easing the financial and emotional burden of veterinary care for families in Santa Clara County, CA. Through our assistance programs, we help low-income pet owners access essential medical care, improve their pets’ well-being, and feel supported throughout the process.

Please read the “program eligibility requirements” & FAQ’s carefully before filling the application

  1. You and your dog are residents of Santa Clara County, California.
  2. Your household income is within the federal poverty guidelines (please review the household income guidelines below).
  3. Proof of low income and financial need is required, which may include tax returns, government assistance verification, or other relevant documentation.
  4. If your dog was adopted from a rescue organization, that organization must complete our financial need form, including proof of adoption and a brief statement explaining why financial assistance is needed
  5. Your dog must be exhibiting aggressive behaviors toward humans that pose a potential safety risk.
  6. You must be willing to consult with a Veterinary Behaviorist, if recommended, and follow their treatment plan.
  7. You must be prepared to contribute 25% toward your dog’s training cost, with support from friends, family, or other sources if needed.
  8. You agree to work exclusively with one of Diesel’s FootPrint’s approved Partner Trainers to ensure consistent and cost-effective care.
  9. You must commit to using only proven, science-based, reward-based training methods.
  10. You agree to share a testimonial about your dog’s progress and success after completing the program.

“Submitting an application does not ensure approval. On behalf of Diesel’s FootPrint, we ask that you wait for confirmation of financial assistance before scheduling appointments with a trainer or veterinary behaviorist. We will notify you once a decision has been made.”

  • You and your dog are not a resident of Santa Clara County, California.
  • Your dog needs training for issues other than aggression toward humans. 

You will receive a response within 48 hours after the application and required documentation is submitted by the applicant and the organization they adopted the dog from.

  • You’ll get an email confirmation within 24 hours after submitting all required documents for yourself, household members over 18 and the rescue organization.

  • If documents aren’t submitted within 48 hours of applying, your application will be closed, and you’ll need to reapply.

  • Check your spam folder, and if you don’t hear from us in 24 hours, email assistance@dieselsfootprint.org.
